I have a couple of Kapex blades (one Festool and another Tenryu) that I had sharpened a few months ago.  I took them out to use them a few weeks back and my cuts looked like I was using a chainsaw :(  I'm not sure the guy used the correct grind.  If that's the case are the blades shot?

I think the only person that can advise you about the condition of the blades and whether or not they can be sharpened correctly would be a reputable resharpening company.  If you do a search there are several threads with a number of choices available for review.  As I haven't sent any Festool blades in yet for resharpening I can't offer a recommendation....

Russell,

I would suggest that you look up the closest leitz service center to you and contact them regarding sharpening and possible resuscitation of your blade.

I ship mind to LA Grinding. Just checked out their web site and they have a sister company call Arizona Grinding.
They cleaned up a miss grind I received from an east coast company.

I completely agree with RJ Neal.

LA Grinding has been doing nearly all of my sharpening for my metal fabrication businesses since 1960. Over 20 years ago when my former sharpener of woodworking bit and blades retired, I turned that work over to LA Grinding. Then when I started using Festools in 2006 my dealer assured me LA Grinding understood. My cabinet business is large, so we have a lot of TS and Kapex blades to sharpen. They also sharpen mt router bits and shaper/planer knives, as well as the larger blades for our slider and beam saws.

The advantage I have is that my cabinet shop is about a five minute drive from LA Grinding in Burbank, CA

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'm going to look into AZ Grinding since they're the closest.
