is there a way to adjust the kapex brakes to come on sooner? when new they came on within a second now its 3-4 seconds??

Mine is new and it does not stop in a second or two.  It takes 3-4 seconds to stop. I too am wondering if there is an adjustment.

I don't believe the 120 volt U.S. Kapex is equipped with a brake.

Rick, this may be the first and only time I correct you. The US/Canadian model does have a brake, hence the "EB" on the saw. The "B" is brake. It's a magnetic brake and with the saw UNPLUGGED you can rotate the blade and feel it.

No way to adjust it since it's magnets.

This happens to be one of those topics that I can't verify myself because my Kapex is an early 240 volt prototype from before they were released in Europe. However, nothing I have found on the Festool USA website indicated this was a KS 120 EB like it does on the international web site. (I looked before I posted before.)
Edit: Ahhhh! I should have checked EKAT. You are correct. They are listed as KS 120 EB for the US.

[scared] [scared] I bet you have your pocket knife out right now etching this date permanently into your calender or on your desk.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

I've just had a Hitachi mitre saw repaired as the brake wasn't applying correctly all the time, they were adamant it was the brushes being worn, so it might be worth checking that.

That said, in my case it wasn't the brushes at all, they changed the armature (whatever that is).

[member=191]Rick Christopherson[/member], it was part of my evil plan. BWHAHAHAHA!  [cool]

I leave the suffixes off because I've found it causes confusion more than helping. A customer sees an "EQB" saw on the international website and then an "EQ" on ours and is confused thinking they are two different saws. So, I leave it off.
