Kapex clamping while beveling

I'm curious how some of you handle clamping the work piece to a Kapex when making a bevel cut and the regular Kapex clamp gets in the way of the head. I can think of options for changing the cut but I'm curious if anyone has some ingenious ways to clamp without the Festool supplied Kapex clamp.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Tom

Dont use a clamp just hold the piece?!?  lol  [tongue]

I dont even know where my festool clamp is  I took it of the day I got my kapex and not seen it since!

I do that, JMB. But that's not an appropriate official answer in our litigious society...

clamp it on the other side of the bevel?

That was my first response also. The objection was that the piece might not be long enough for that technique and it's true, it might not...

Steve, your suggestion looks spot on! With a combination of the Katz gizmo and the Kapex depth stop, it could work really well - Thanks!

Clamping a piece down? I thought that was what my other hand was for.
Having just bought a Kapex I can say I like I think the Kapex clamp is a nice piece of clamp. However, it is also disappointing that Festool couldn't design it better for use during full bevel cutting. Beyond that I don't see myself using it all that much. Like others have mentioned it will probably get misplaced in the not too distant future.
