Thinking about purchasing a kapex but need to know if it will cut 5 1/4 baseboard standing up. This molding is standard for my area and can't imagine cutting it laying the molding down. Anybody use the kapex for this purpose. Sorry if I am rehashing and old subject but couldn't find any posts about this

The specs published in the Festool 2013 catalog unfortunately show the maximum cutting height to be 4 3/4" on a 3/4" piece of material - in the special cutting position. I admit that I haven't tried cutting 5 1/4 baseboard.

Why not take full advantage of the Kapex features?
With base laying down on the Kapex, you accomplish a miter by beveling the Kapex. This is a task installers working for me do nearly every day with the Kapex they take on-site. This is simply a matter of experience using the Kapex.
