KAPEX dado question

I was trying to cut some dadoes in a 4x4 (3-1/2" x 3-1/2") post earlier today and found the most shallow dado I could cut in a 4x4 was 2-inches deep, but I wanted to cut dadoes only 1-1/2" deep.

Scratching my head on this one.  Any suggestions?
