Hi Everyone

I recently demonstrated the new UJK Parf Protractor in a video (thread is in the Sales and Dealer area) and ended up with a pentagon made of 5 pieces and a decagon made out of 10 pieces all of which were cut very accurately on my tracksaw cutting station.

I then had an idea to make a tool caddy by producing a 10 sided container. I did not realise how easy and accurately I could produce the 10 pieces for the contain and did not video the actual tool caddy being made. So, thinking the concept might be of use to others and would also demonstrate the superb accuracy of the Kapex 120 I made a new container and filmed the process.

Here is the video:

Thanks for sharing the build.

The secondary fence for tear-out control is a great idea. The only change I'd make is to use a removal stop block so the workpiece is not pinched between the blade and the stop block -- to eliminate any chance of kickback.

Yeah, the Kapex's bevel feature is second to none, and I also use it to cut long miters. The precision bevel control knob is one of the reasons why I advise people against buying the smaller Kapexes.

Peter,

Thanks, nice video.

Could the same technique be used to make bevel angle boxes?  I have use the technique shown here:

Making splayed miter joints

using my table saw.  Your technique of using the backing piece and angled stop should work as well I would think.

Hi Bob,

I think that with the Kapex you can easily set the mitre angle and bevel angle to do a compound cut. I did it a while ago and may do it again and video the setup.

Cheers.
