Kapex fast fix not working

I tried to change the blade on my kapex and the blade stop is not locking the blade. I tried to engage the button in multiple positions and still nothing. The knob turns correctly and locks the controls but doesn't lock the blade. This saw is me to me so am I missing a step. I also tried locking the blade against a piece if wood but it was almost like the arbor would spin but blade stayed still. Ran the saw after and no issues of blade slipping or weird noises.

Has anyone heard of this issue or is it a new one. I searched online but couldn't find anything matching my issue. Thank you.

I would strongly suggest that you call Festool tomorrow at the number located on the label in stalled on your saw and talk to them.  They are knowledgeable and friendly!

I found the problem myself, didn't feel like paying for shipping and repair, it isn't cheap to mail out a kapex lol. I took the motor cover off and the arm that logs the spindle was broke. Not bashing but I feel this piece should be made of steel and not a cast piece. The little piece is supposed to lock the motor spindle but it's very thin and cracked easily. A new $10 part and I was back in business. Wanted to share incase any runs into this issue,  very simple fix.

Thanks for sharing. I agree that shipping the whole machine to Festool at my own cost for that kind of problem without first trying to fix it myself wouldn't have been my first thought.

Any chance that you might've taken photos to share?

I vaguely recall with the early Kapex units there was an issue of a part that could bend or break, was this locking lever the issue?

It was the locking lever, my kapex is only a year old !  Sorry  I didn't take pics .

I definitely watched all of his videos lol, he does show that part going in but there are a few pieces that are not shown that gave me some trouble reassembling. I will try to attach a pic but need to resize it, really wish stuff would auto size.
