Kapex grinding noise on bevel

Picked up my Kapex right before christmas and have been extremely satisfied with it up until now, the only thing that is a little annoying is the bevel and miter adjustment, while adjusting a miter angle with the lock button fully depressed it is making a slight grinding noise and you can tell that the lock pin is sliding directly on the miter plate, i am getting that rectified with the retrofit replacement kit.  My other issue is the bevel adjustment grinding noise which is happening exactly between 43rd and 45th degree going to the left while using the bevel adjustment knob, i have tested the unit at the TOOLNUT store where i have purchased it and the same exact thing is going on with their Kapex, exactly between 43 and 45 degree set in the 0-45 degree preset on the green knob there is a very distinct grinding noise.  Check yours and let me know if you are experiencing the same thing.

This issue has come up before: link to old thread

I just reread the old thread but there are a few posts missing. Rick Christopherson, the guy who writes the excellent supplemental owner's manuals for festool USA, posted a few pictures of a partly dissassembled kapex and explained where the noise during the travel in the bevel action comes from.
