Kapex KS 120 no stock anywhere in the UK. Am I missing something?

Hi Folks

All the usual dealers seem to be out of stock and certainly in the South of the UK (Axminster/DM tool/FFX etc).  I've googled various others and there seems to be a general shortage of Kapex 120's.  Is this correct/known about?  And if so do we know when they're likely to be back in stock please?

Many thanks
Rob

Now there's a name I recognise from UKW Rob. I'm afraid I can't help with anywhere with actual stock, but the Fesdrool Facebook group may be a good source as it has a number of friendly and helpful active dealers on there. Simon Brewer from West Country Machinery being about the best there is. There's a dealer request form once you've joined the group which should yield some responses.

Happy Hunting. I say "happy" knowing full well it's anything but!

Ah hello matey....nice to hear from you :-)

I'll try as you suggest as it seems they're about as rare as rocking horse....er....manure right now!!

Amazon (Germany) lists them as being in stock.  If you have an Amazon account it will work there.
https://www.amazon.de/s?k=Kapex&language=en_GB&ref=nb_sb_noss

There is a way to toggle that site to English.  They have the magnifying glass icon for searching at the top of the page.  Just to the right of that icon is a miniature German flag.  Click that and you can choose the language.

I've ordered from Amazon.de (Germany) to the USA and the freight was very reasonable.

Amazon.es (Spain) also shows it, but they only offer Spanish and Portuguese translations and I had to get help to order from them.

Amazon.it (Italy) also shows it, but only in Italian.  I could not find a toggle for that to English.

Regardless of the location your Amazon account will work.  You will have to make the currency conversion to see if it is a fair deal.

Google Chrome should offer to translate it automatically, even if the site doesn't have its own switch.  It may not come out to the exact words you are expecting, but it should be close enough to figure it out if you have experience with the site.

If you do look outside of our shores I'd check with Festool UK first to make sure the warranty is covered - I'd suspect not.

Chrome will translate, but it delinks you with the Amazon site as it does and none of the buttons on Amazon work at that point.

Nikon, the camera manufacturer, also had a lot of gray market goods imported to the USA and Nikon USA would not cover the guarantee.  It would be covered by Nikon's International guarantee, but that required sending the camera back to Japan for service.

Also, many people bought legitimate examples of Nikons while on vacation, and others bought the cameras from authorized dealers in their home country and the camera failed while traveling.  Those cameras would also have to be covered.

I would assume that Festool would have an international guarantee.  Though it is far less likely that you would take a vacation with your track saw, you could emigrate from Germany to the USA and take your Festool equipment with you.

I've scored Guys

Got the ex display model from Axy in Basingstoke so I'm good to go.  in fact I should probably stop typing and go and unload the sucker from the boot of my car!!

Now where's that fancy shmancy manual you can download that covers everything beyond the factory manual??

Thanks for all the input though, it is appreciated
Cheers
Rob

Congratulations. Glad you found your Kapex. I don't think you would have been happy with a KS88.
