I noticed an oily substance on the table inserts after using my Kapex miter saw. I then saw an oily film between the arbor housing and the blade guard ring. Was grease applied to the blade guard ring by the factory so it would rotate freely or is grease leaking from the arbor housing. I notice the parts diagram shows an o-ring ( part #47)on the arbor housing. I'm not sure if the arbor housing is packed with grease. Thanks for any help on this.

Shane has said recently that a batch of kapex had a slighty larger amount of grease used during production, and this may be why your saw is leaking, a call festool service for the best advice.would be the way to go.

I have also experienced oil leaking beside the blade and onto the blade guard.  It does not seem to be a major problem and the saw works well otherwise so I am living with it for the present.

My Kapex has started leaking oil as well... out of the vents above/behind the blade.  I will take a photo tomorrow and give customer service a call... Dang.
