I have my new Kapex from the sale waiting to be used and was considering getting the plans for the work centre but.... I came across a Portamate PM7000H being cleared at a good price and scooped it up.... Before getting into the "some assembly required" part I thought I'd ask the FOG crew if anyone has the Kapex with PM7000h combo and whether the Portamate would be satisfactory for a 'week-end do it yourselfer' with high quality expectations. I'd appreciate any guidance on this.
Regards
Doug

That stand served me for almost 4 years and just recently sold it.  Its good quality and is the only one with a 4 port power strip. The stops are a tad sloppy but work. I do love the little rack that comes off the legs to keep stock off of the ground at the job site. The router table attachment is nice but the fence will flex. I've ran rails,  stile,  raised panels, and table edges on it. It works but has its faults.

The Kapex will work well on it if you mount it to a plywood base on top of the mounts.  The other thing i like about this stand is the fact i can break it down and wheel  the saw to my truck.

Here's the same concept, it's just that some of the details are different. Note the plywood base that [member=47595]TheTrooper[/member] referred to. The only trick is to mount the saw as far rearward on the stand as possible while still maintaining a stable platform.

I like the forethought you put in to the plywood base with the extra material to the left of the saw for your measuring and marking tools.  I really like the pencil grooves.

I also had to chuckle to myself.  I have that same router table (under your saw) that has been relegated to storage in the attic for the past decade or so.

Thanks, If I were to do it again, I'd also leave a little extra material on the RH side. Because I'm right handed, everything gets passed from my RH to the left side of the saw. [embarassed] If you look closely I also included holes for an extra hold down and the 2 hex keys. The Woodpeckers triangle fits nicely into the void under the Kapex.

Ya I purchased the PC table new for $50 many, many moons ago. It rattles and vibrates and can walk across the room on it's own, however when I need to use it outside, it was the best $50 I've ever spent.
