Kapex on/off switch issues

Just bought a Kapex. Very excited about this. Plug it in and start it up. Now I have read about the trigger lock being kind of funky but having been using power tools for 40 years,  how hard can this be. Saw starts up. Good. Try again. Saw doesn't start. Okay, I'm doing it wrong. Try various combinations of pressing the on/off switch and the trigger lock but have sporadic results. Haven't figured out the magic combination. Last resort, read the manual. Okay 1) Pull the on/off switch until some resistance is felt, 2) Push the trigger lock, 3) Pull the on/off switch the rest of the way. Sometimes the saw starts and sometimes it doesn't. Seems at step 3, I can not just pull the on/off switch but have to pull it quickly. Just pulling the switch doesn't work. Pulling hard doesn't work. I have to pull the switch quickly to start the saw. Seems like flaw to me. Anyone have some experience with this?

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm already doing that. Having used any number of tools with a trigger lock, this one seems quite finicky. I've done some cutting now and can get the saw to start most of the time but not 100%.

If the problem persists, it could be a minor factory defect. I've used two Kapexes, and haven't encountered a switch issue like that. Hope after breaking in, your problem disappears by itself.

There's only two switches that operate identically to any other tool with a lock, you press the locking switch then the power and make your cut, so there shouldn't be sporadic results or the need to press anything really fast, or any need for a magic combination.

If this action isn't working for you there must be a fault in the wiring/switches.

Is the FastFix partially engaged and cutting power because it thinks that you're trying to change the blade?
