Just ordered the kapex and ug stand today. Excited is an understatement. Has anyone got or used this stand ?? How did you find it??

Smart decision! The stand works well with the Kapex and provides mobility when needed. The stand has just enough room under it for a vac. The large diameter hose greatly enhances Kapex dust collection. The supplemental manual has some good info especially on adjusting the lasers.

From personal experience, let the blade come to a complete stop before lifting it. The Kapex can launch a cutoff at high speed if you lift the blade while still spinning. Nasty.

Cheers for the reply. Was not planning on getting one till next year. I was selling my makita router and planning in getting the of1400 but the guy saw my dewalt saw and ended up buying it which worked out great. How do you find the laser works on the saw?? On my dewalt it had an led light, I'm sure they work the same

Two laser lines. When adjusted correctly any thing between them disappears with the kerf. Means you can cut to a mark from both sides. The stand is very good and mine has been in and out of the van for the last 10 months with no loss of accuracy or damage other than the odd paint chip. I cut everything from framing timber to second fix. With the wings and stops repetitive cutting is very easy. Correct about letting the blade stop

Once adjusted, the lasers (one on each side of the cut) are good for close approximation of the cut line. If I need a high precision cut, I will drop the blade down to the pencil mark before starting the cut. Getting the blade down without starting the motor takes a few practice runs, but is second nature now.

Be warned, the Allen wrecch for the laser adjustment is hard to see in the packaging. Mine was stuck into the styrofoam. My lasers took about 15 minutes to adjust once I had read the supplemental manual.

All other aspects of the saw needed no adjustments. The cuts at 90 and 45 were dead on and have remained so.

I added a zero clearance insert and it has improved the cut quality and eliminated slivers of wood collecting below the blade.

I built a zero clearance supplemental fence per the manual's plans but almost never use it. If I'm worried about blowout, I just add a piece of scrap behind the board I'm cutting.

I've seen lots of complaints about the saw's  table components not being perfectly true. I've never seen the need to measure mine and I do high precision work on the Kapex.

I've also seen lots of complaint about the base casting not being highly finished around the lower rim. I've never looked at mine. Hey, it's a casting!

I did add the extensions on both sides of my Kapex. The extra 5 to 6 inches of support on each side are useful. The extensions also allow me to mount some jigs I've built for the Kapex.

Dust collection is very good, but don't expect 100%. It's better on some cuts than others.

I Too maybe ordering Kapex soon. What's the Laser like in daylight? Is it difficult to see?

Kapex is a great saw, especially when paired with the ug stand, mine is constantly on the move and it is really quick to set up and take down. I don't use the lasers as I find they obscure the cut line.
