Kapex purchase question (festool dealers)

Well, I'm off the fence. I'm no longer in the wait and see. I'm ready to buy.  Problem is I really would like to have it for the weekend. I'm in st. jacob il 62281.  (close to STL).  I would prefer to get it mail order (avoid sales tax).  Anybody out there could help?

if you want if for the weekend you will have to go to a store and buy it.  overnighting it to you is major bucks and would prob even out over tax.

just go and pick one up locally and then you will have .  make sure you find out if the plate has been replaced, the little piece under the knob for miter angles.  or if it has a current ship date.

who is near you?  do you have a rockler?  woodcraft?  some are open late on thursday.

Went to their website and when i dial the number it just gives me another number.  Oh well it's not looking like it's going to happen.  I could drive (1/4 tank gas) and find a bricks n morter site,  but it irks the bejesus out of me to pay another 109 bucks on top of the 1300 just to give it to give it to the govt.  And on top of that the state that Obamas from.  (sorry for the political humor no offense intended).  More than likely I wont be abe to get it for the week-end and I'm traveling next week so it will end up being regular ground.

I know it's too late to help for this situation, but in the future find an out-of-state dealer that is not far from you.  I'm in PA and my dealer Bob M is in NJ, free ground shipping, and best thing is from NJ to PA for me is delivered next day.  Nothing like free ground shipping that is delivered next business day!

Thanks, I'll definately keep that in mind.  I'm moving to Pottstown in 3 weeks.  The reason I wanted it was for wrapping up a project prior to packing up the shop for the move.

Hey Poto, I called him this morning and said "I know you can't help me but" and I have to admit he did his dang best.  He does not ship Fed-ex and UPS does not work on Sat.  He did not give up and went next door to another shop that does ship fedex and said it would be 187 and he'd split it with me, but they could not confirm sat deliv.  He did not give up and went to a fed-ex store and it would be "hold your wallet"  $367 for overnight sat delivery. He even said he'd eat all but a hundred.  At that point I could not see him eating the cost and on my end 100.  He said upsground is free if I could wait.  He impressed me, so I'm going to order from Philly on Tuesday and have it for Friday.  He suggested that if I did need it for Sat went to rockler and got it to make sure to check it with a .2mm feeler gauge to make sure the plate was not an issue.  Heck of an attention to needs of the customer.  He'll get my business.  Thanks for the info.

Cool - I told you he'd take care of you. That's pretty much true of all the Festool dealers, but I particularly like Timmy C. He's given me amazing service (I haven't asked him to do anything quite as difficult as you did!), and he's become a friend in the bargain. Good people out there. It's a pleasure to give them my business. Timmy really goes above and beyond in his service.

Well the order went in today Timmy C indicated it would be checked (plate) and tested and on its way to me.  Any issues let him know.  It should be there waiting on me for Friday!  come on week get done and southwest get me back home.  YEHAH!!!!!

Got home today and there she was.  I opened and it was smoothe as silk.  Thanks TimmyC cut like a dream and the lasers dead on no issues.  I still can't beleive I paid that much for the saw, but I did.

Wonderful news - congratulations on your new purchase. Now that you've paid that much for a saw you can lift, all the other Festools seem inexpensive by comparison.
