My first instinct was to save the box & shipping material in case it has to be sent for repair - but it is a really big box and takes up a lot of shop space - what do you guys do. The systainer tools can easily be packaged but not that Kapex  [eek]

I am pretty sure Festool can/will send you a box if you needed to send the saw in for repair, not sure if there is a charge for this or if its only when you are within the warranty period - I am sure [member=47173]Brent Shively[/member] can chime in here.

I kept my box but it is in high overhead storage at the warehouse

Check with your dealer.  At Ultimate Tools, we keep several Kapex boxes around so that we can ship a saw if/when required to do so.

I saved the box when I bought my first Kapex 4-5 years ago.  Finally tossed it after 4 years of trouble free service.

When I bought my 2nd Kapex the box went in the trash before I fired up the saw.  In retrospect probably should have checked the saw before I pitched the box but I got lucky as Mr. Murphy was otherwise occupied that day

Lou,
As Bill mentioned you most likely will never need it, so if you have room in your shop to store it great.  If not and for some reason you do need to send the saw in you can contact our service department and have one sent to you.

Timely thread.  I bought a Kapex in July and have been holding onto the box.  I think I'll pitch it into the recycle bin.
