Kapex to CT26 hose length...

I have a 3.5m 36mm hose connecting my new Kapex to the CT26 extractor which sits
directly under the saw so the hose is looped quite a bit - I could probably get by
with about 1.5m hose length. My question is basically would the extraction improve
significantly by shortening the hose? Right now it is very good (90+%) but any improvement
would be worthwhile I believe.

Yes, many on here (including me) cut the hose in half and use 1.75M length to Kapex. Dust collection is noticably improved. You can sell the other half to a fellow Kapex owner.

I have a 1.2 m piece of 36 mm going into my collector system which is 50 mm diameter for 1 m before it hits the CT26.

Go as short as you can.

Or you can purchase a precut hose with the correct ends assembled on it. I think Tool Nut offers one along with other vendors for around $90. That way you can keep your full length 36mm hose to use with your saw or router.

Actually, I purchased mine from Tooltown. It's about 6' long with Festool anti-static hose connectors on both ends. Works great, a lot better than the original hose.

  If you are cutting a hose to length yourself. Just be sure to check the length in the extreme miter positions with the head down.  In order to make sure you don't cut it too short.

Any benefits having the 50mm hose vs the 36mm for the Kapex. I have the Ct36 AC with the plainex hose

To my opinion, there is no D50-35 mm connector to fit the dust port on the Kapex or other Festool machine.
It's only meant for cleaning.
I use the Ø50 mm Festool hose to connect my Metabo DH 330 table planer with a CTL 26.
I then take out the dust bag and afterwards put the chips directly in a garbage bag.

anyone aware of any uk firms that sell pre cut hoses?

i could i guess get a 36mm hose. cut it in half so i have a kapex hose and put new ends on the other section and join it to the midi hose. or perhaps shorten the midi hose and have a section that would spin in the middle? thats an irritation when the hose coils up so easily.
