Will the extensions for Kapex UG wheeled stand also work with the Kapex MFT-3?  Do you have an imperial scale option?

first of all a half [welcome] to you . long time lurker , con grats on the first post.

i wouldnt hold your breath on an imerial version.

i would think they would fit in the v groove but dont know about the height

It's the same v-groove on the Kapex and the MFT/3.

The MFT/3 is the same height as the deck of the Kapex.

Therefore, the new Kapex extensions should work fine as extensions to the MFT/3.

I also, would not expect an Imperial version.

I don't think that's the question, I believe he's asking if the extensions will work with the MFT/Kapex.

I believe that JMB posted a video where he showed that the locking nut hits the extrusion below the V-groove. My understanding is it won't work without modification.

it will work with a regular mtf. not the kapex mtf. as for the knob tightening it is a little tight to get the knob tight under the mtf rail but doable i do it all the time

I wasn't clear in my last reply.  I believe the poster is asking if the extensions will work with the Kapex on the MFT/Kapex instead of the UG cart.

I want to try this out in the office tomorrow. I seem to remember testing this out but I don't recall the results. I want to say that they will work on the MFT/3-Kapex. The legs on the extensions do have some flexibility in the height adjustment.

I'll give it a try tomorrow and post the results.

Gentlemen, you are correct... the question is:  Will the extensions work with the Kapex on the MFT/Kapex instead of the UG cart?  Thanks for the help!

Yes. Absolutely 100%, they WILL work with the Kapex on top of the MFT/Kapex.

Yes, I just tried it. It works fine. Thought it did.

No modification required it's just a little awkward it does just lip on enough and you can just tighten it enough just don't do it to tight as it makes it more awkward to remove aswell it's a little annoying though. Like you seen in my pictures it only just catches little poor design really not very system friendly lol

UG extensions will

Fit on MFT3
Fit on CMS basic
Fit on CMS VL
Fit on kapex while on kapex/MFT3
Fit on on kapex while on ugstand (of course lol)

NOT fit on kapex/MFT3 it's self! Unless you lift your kapex/mft3 up or cut your ug extention leg down
NOT fit the kapex with crown stops attached

Jmb

Will the extensions connect to the Kapex if theCrown Stop Base Extensions are attached to the Kapex?

Sorry forgot to add crown stops to the not fit list!  I have added  it to the list above now they will NOT fit onto the crown stops.

Wow! I usually rave about Festool, however I have to say not engineering the UG cart extensions so they work with the crown stop base extensions is a huge oversight by Festool. I won't be buying the UG cart.

Shane,
How about providing feedback to Festool engineering!

I have to say it is a bit odd that the Crown stop base extensions don't have have the same V grove on their outer limits. I have only owned the Kapex since last July and  have not added extensions yet. Until the new UG came out... I don't think the lack of the V has ever been an issue.

For a product that is based in system compatibility.... this is an over site.

If you look at a recent post some people think the Kapex can not  travel without damage. I have to say that saw has traveled more miles than most tools I have and it is a rock!

I do see a move from the thought process of people thinking that you will set up Festool only in a shop or as a temp shop (week or or more) on site to a day site job.... thus the UG! I like the UG alot... I have the Kapex MFT.... and really see the UG as better option for me, as I work on site all the time.  Being able to roll the saw on the supporting structure that also carries the extensions at one time is huge.

Not to say the Kapex table has limited me....just easier to roll it all in with the wings on the UG.

I have to say I'm thinking of buying the UG package so I can add the wings to my Kapex when on the mft table ...the crown stops..... would be nice to have but not a deal breaker for me for most of all of my work... or just use the UG set. I do like the work height of the Kapex MFT for many things besides just putting the Kapex on it.

Cheers,
Steve
