Has anyone figured out the plastic strapped carrying thing for the KA-UG-L-R extensions? I have tried to fit them everyway possible and can't figure it out [sad]

i think i saw it shown in a video either by honey do kreg on the ug stand or another video at the same time

I will go looking for one that I remember.  It is in a European video.

Bingo!

What you are looking for comes in around the 2 minute mark.

Enjoy!

What a fascinating video.

I needed to watch more than once because the first time my eyes kept focusing on the size of those historic circular saws on the shelves in the background.

In the spirit of equal opportunity, it was also lovely to see a woman participating in a Festool event, as shown in the video. Can we assume this video was made at the Festool Training Facility in Germany?

Carroll, I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is from a training facility in another country. The other video posts by that person look to have Russian text.

He still had to give it some thought tho and took him a while to do it, not as long as me tho. I would have thought he was the festool rep as well. If someone was to invent a better storage system for the wings I'm sure everyone would buy them as the current setup isn't very good

Thanks Shane, Germany, Russia, even without English subtitles or dub, it is a good demonstration, a wonderful facility and a lovely woman participant.

From what I saw in the video, that seems like a cunning way to hold, store and transport the Kapex UG Folding Extensions or "wings". Very ingenious!

I agree!  I can do it but no mater how hard I try I can not do it fast.  My aim would be 10seconds any longer and its no good! To do it in 10seconds you rush to much and then confused lol!  If anything thing takes time people cant be bothered and them things take time! I dont know where mine are some where in the garage I think never use them.

I wish what they did was instead of the plastic caps having a half round on them to allow it to sit on the bottom rail  is that the arm extensions had the half round on them either a plastic piece attached permanently to the extensions with a half round  or the Aluminium has a half round cut out.   I would prefer plastic 2 reasons it wont scratch the bottom rail on the Ug stand and you can lean your rails against a wall on a concrete floor with the plastic caps protecting the ends.

Having some small plastic caps with half round attached to the extensions will make it alot quicker.   I would Rivet a strap with velcro to 1 one of the arm extensions so you put the extensions together and you can quickly strap them together and then you just simply place them on the stand as they have the half round already on the ends.

alot easier quicker!

ive found it very easy to pack them back up in the straps, just make sure you have the extensions the right way,

the design of the wings isnt great and the way they pack for transport could have been thought out better. they should click together like those trestles you can buy and have a handle on one side, i really like the cart but i dont like the wings, imagine if someone was to walk buy and catch the wing! it would probably knock the whole thing over saw included! im thinkin bout returning the extensions and just mount the kapex on my dewalt stand, will try it for a week first tho.

Yup, me too Dan, once you have done it a couple of times its easy. Its called patience. [tongue]

How are you with the Kapex now? Still wish you had kept the Dewalt?

hey guy, i had to return a 2nd kapex as the new one they sent had damage on the base that had been touched up with grey paint!  [eek]  i would post a pic but not sure how to as yet, so i still havent had chance to use it! [sad] like i said i think the rolling cart is fantastic, but the wings not so much, i was on a job the other day and i had to set my dewalt stand up on some rough hardcore ready for them to lay a drive, the dewalt no probs but theres no way i could have set the kapex on that terrain as the footprint is too small, i still have my dewalt saw and stand and am seriously thinking about mounting the kapex on the dewalt stand, apart from the ug cart i think its more versatile.

Used the saw yesterday, without the stand, well...it cuts like a frigging dream! Will get some time in with the stand and saw this week, definately a keeper! I cut some laminated upstand with it, the head of the saw is so rigid and cuts effortlessly.

Like cutting through butter aint it!  ITs what most people point out to me when they use my saw.  It needs a new blade mine does now but still cuts as good as my makita with a sharp blade!  You will be suprissed to how long the blade last honestly I have had mine since I had the kapex and only now am I needing to replace the blade cus if I dont cut really slow and steady it chips the face of the cornice and I dont like slow and steady!
So next time I use my kapex im putting in my new blade and sending the other off to get sharpened.
