Ugh! - Just had the hook layer peel off the substrate when changing grits on my RO150E.  :(  Note to self;  When the nearest place to purchase Festool products is over 200 miles away, it is a good practice to have spares on hand.  Unfortunately, for this sander, I did not so I will have to resort to the ETS150/3 (ironically, I do have a spare pad for this one).

Steve,

The ETS 150 and RO 150 E share the same pads...  [huh]

The RO 150 FEQ uses a different pad.

Shane

Thanks Shane.  That is good to know. :)

And... back up and running again. [thanks]

Well that's disapointing.  I've read a lot that suggested to get the same size ETS if you have a RO, so you can share pads.  Why the difference with the FEQ?  Did the others not hold well enough for the big RO?

The interface pads I just got for my RO150 say they are for LEX|ETS|WTS|ROTEX RO 150.  Wouldn't the sanding pads be the same?

Just to be clear about terminology... Pad = the white spongy part of the sander that you attach the sandpaper to. Abrasive - the sandpaper disc.

The pad is different between the RO 150 FEQ and ETS 150 because the new Rotex has a pad that doesn't require a tool to remove the pad. The ETS 150 uses a bolt in the center of the pad to attach it, same with the old RO 150 E.

The abrasives can be used interchangeably between any 150mm sander.

Right, sorry.  Wow, I'm really slipping.  Although the RO150 is my first and only Festool sander, I do know that because I just bought a hard pad for it.  Well, I did know that, but then forgot as soon as I placed the order?  Yes, I checked and I did order the right one  [smile]
