Kitchen cabinet help. Made a goof.

So I started building my kitchen cabinets and I made the first exposed panel and the panel has 2” rails.
However, I forgot to subtract 3/4” for the face frame width. So my question to everyone is would you just make the finished size of the cabinet 24 3/4”?
Or would you just trim each stile 3/8” and call it a day.

If it's just one panel, couldn't you remake it?

I wouldn't change the dimensions of your cabinets to accommodate an error.  It could throw something else off down the road.

Other thought - does your face frame extend beyond the side of the cabinet box?  Could you trim the side panel so it hits flush w/ the face frame?

After much thought I am going to remake the panel the correct way. Then with this panel I am going to trim it down to the correct dimension and use it in a location
where it is not seen.
It is better to make these cabinets correctly, than cobble them together.

Sounds like the panel is supposed to butt against the backside of the face frame and be flush with the end of the ff. In that case the stile that mates with the ff will look like it’s 2-3/4” thick rather than 2” thick like all the other stiles so why not take all the surplus off that one stile? And make the other side panels the same as the modified version.

Following the general organizing fantasy that frame and panel cabinets are really boxes made with 2” square solid corner posts with inset dust panels...

It's more work but I would consider cutting a 45 on the panel and the face frame end and joining them, especially if you will clear finish the cabinet.  My experience is that the joint will remain clearly visible due to the grain differences if you join the face frame to the panel with a butt joint.  With a 45, your only risk is a little gap on the corner.  Both the face frame and the panel will not otherwise show a joint.

If this is for yourself, Id do what ever is easer and make sure you do the rest of them the same. Beauty of "custom" built stuff.
Believe me, no one would notice unless you told them.

Ex: I have my home up for sale, I built my own kitchen cabinets. Theres a oopsie on one that I see every time I go in the kitchen. Had 120 people come look at the house. No one noticed.
