Kitchen Makeover

Last year The Love Of My Life commissioned a new kitchen. She wanted all the soffits to go away with the upper cabinets going to the ceiling. So this would be a complete gut job.  I started working on the cabinets in August of 2017. Working evenings and weekends when time allowed, I finished them in June of this year.  They are made of cherry, finished with General Finishes ARM-R-SEAL. The countertops are quartz. We finally got everything functional last week. I thought I'd share some pics.

Nice work. Glad I'm not the only one who stores his compressor in the kitchen [embarassed]...

Great job.  I like the side panel detail on the upper cabinets rather than just a plain flat side.  Did you use a tracksaw or table saw or both for the project?

Thanks to all for the kind words.  I used both. TS55 for all of the sheet goods (prefinished maple ply for the uppers). I used the table saw for all the face frames and door rails/stiles. Everything held together with dominoes. That DF500 was a game change for me.

Thanks again,
Barney

Excellent work!  Really like the inset look.  Cherry will get a rich color in a couple years which will make it even more awesome!

Enjoy!

Regards,
Gerald

Thanks again folks. Yes, we'll be waiting patiently for the cherry to darken.

Cheers,
Barney

Nice job... [big grin] That's a lot of cabinets to build. At least 18 by my count.

Just curious if you used ply core or MDF core?

Thanks, Cheese.

Yeah, there are 18 upper cabs. And I'm too old to be muscling around MDF.  I used prefinished maple ply for the uppers except for the ends that show. Those have rails/stiles and raised panels. And the bride likes things simple, so the raised panel field is on the inside.

There are 10 lower cabs, each with 4 drawers. The only doors on the lowers are in the sink base.

Thanks again,
Barney

Great craftsmanship! I know she will have more projects for you now!

Yeah, my "honey-do" list is getting longer every day.

Thanks again to all for the kind words.
