In my house I have a kitchen walk in pantry.  The face of the pantry is two 3' doors.  The inside is lined with that cheap wire mesh crap.  I would like to upgrade to good selving and have get creative with fold out floor to ceiling organization maybee connected via piano hinge or on slides and heavy duty pivots make out of good ply(maximize the space).  I've even considered some type of sliding shelving like oyu see in DR's offices that they keep patient records in.  Anyway looked for plans all over the net no luck.  Any you guys done this type of work have suggestions or locations for heavy duty slides/hinges that could support the weight of ply and food and be able to smoothly be moved?

Steve,

Good luck with the pantry project. If you don't already use SketchUp (free download from Google) to plan your designs. Good practice for other projects. As for supplies try these guys:http://www.baersupply.com/baer/fr_main.html

Pretty much anything you may need.

Thanks for the note, and yes I use sketchup now.  If I could get a pic of something I'm sure I coudl work with it.  The challenging part would be the calculation of the load and making sure the hinge and hardware will support the load.

This supplier has a full line of organization products for cabinets, and all of the hinges and slides. Great prices and service.

I have an .skp file, but it does not seem to like them here. How I may be doing one as you describe.

I just noticed your location, I did this remodel in Chester Springs, also did their deck but I do not have any pics of it;

Thanks for the links on the hardware.    Nice Job!  Chester springs is not far from me.

Bones, I have seen rubber tyred castors, heavy duty ones, on the base of some swing out storage doors.
They were hidden by the skirting(baseboard) that was echoed around the rest of the kitchen and supported the loaded door at the point furthest away from the hinge.
If I recall correctly the hinges used were 4" brass butts as used on room doors. They worked well over the wood floor, not sure if they would work as well over textured tile or stone floors though.

Hope this is of use.  Rob.
