Klingspors vs Festool abrasives?

I just bought an RO 150 and CT MIDI.  I've always been told festool paper lasts forever and is the best.  I saw that Klingspor has discs designed to fit the RO 150 with all the holes for the multi jet stream pattern.  It is also much cheaper.  Cost aside, which is the better sandpaper (leaves nicest surface and lasts longest)?

I have worked for employers that insisted on using cheaper sandpaper (Deerfos, Mirka) and I was always happier with Festool and 3M abrasives.  When I've been spending my own money on sandpaper, I went with Festool papers.  A price that's 30%-50% higher for something that lasts four or five times as long totally pencils out.

Have you tried klingspor paper?  Festool outlasted it?

Nick, as a floor guy,  I am an extremely high volume paper user. I use Klingspor paper nearly exclusively.  I just receive $1200 worth from them, which will last me about 2 months.  I find their blue paper to be the best for sanding wood.  Granat lasts a long time and is a very nice paper in the higher grit ranges for inter coat abrasion, but is not as aggressive as the blue Klingspor.  My primary grit ranges are from 36g to 120g.  Blue for all of that.  On my 16" buffer, I use the 5" Klingspor psa 220g yellow discs stuck to a maroon pad for inter coat abrasion. They are great as well.

I ordered Klingspor when I was setting up a solid surface shop and wasn't very happy with it.  My following orders were for 3M Tri-zact, which worked better with the dust collection and definitely lasted longer.  Klingspor seemed to be more durable than Abranet, but the Festool Granat papers took the crown.

Lots of good info here. Problem is, there appear to be votes for both sides. I was hoping for an easy, one sided result.  Anyone else have an opinion?

I guess that variety of opinions could give you your answer:  test out some samples and see what works best for your application.  My experience comparing different papers is mostly with plastic.  On my most recent project, I worked with solid maple and veneered plywood.  Festool paper worked great, way better than the Mirka paper I had floating around the shop.  I haven't really tried Klingspor on wood, at least not in the last three or so years.
