When i add a standard 3/4" thick sub fence (for zero clearance) to my Kpex fence, i cant get the hold down clamp to work bc it doesn't have the needed throw or arc-angle to clear the sub fence--the octagonally shaped foot on the hold down does not rotate (?) in any way that i can see.  Am i missing something?  or is the hold down only meant to work with no sub fence?

My sacrificial fence is only 4mm or so thick (thinner than the metal fence). I lose only a small amount of cutting depth (second image: one full-width cut on a 12"x97" melamine board).

I made my sub fence out of a 1/8” composite material I bought at Highland Woodworking. Remember, you have to cut a narrow rebate at the bottom to accommodate the ledge on the Kapex fence.

Agreed you don't want the sacrificial fence inserts to be more than 1/4" (6.3mm) thick.

I made mine from some 9 mm BB that was lying around. I trimmed one of the points on both hold downs and that allows them to swing around the corner.  [smile]
