I saw some pots about using Jessem guides and it reminded me of my journey to add the Jessem Flex Stock Guides to the CSC SYS 50 with the development of the Jessem CSC SYS 50 fence brackets. Suffice it to say, these have been the best accessory I’ve added to the saw.

Other manufacturers and DIYers have devised solutions to attach stock guides/feather boards to the fence. This includes an auxiliary fence in the form of the Bow Fence Extender; homemade clamp-on solutions, etc. The downside with all those solutions, in my opinion, is the increased complexity of transporting these and the impact on the cut capacity (width) of the saw, making them less than ideal. Enter the Jessem Clear Stock Fence Brackets combined with the Jessem Flex Stock Guides. But this review isn’t as much about the Jessem Flex Stock Guides as these are well known— especially for use on router tables. It’s the Fence Brackets which enable this setup.

The brackets offer a tool-free, easy installation to both the Jessem stack guides as well as the CSC SYS 50 saw. A quick twist of the knobs on each of the brackets allows for quick installation and removal after the initial setup. This is important as you can’t leave them on the saw and close the Systainer, but at the same time, they are small enough to put in a drawer of a Systainer while replacing the need for vertical-mounted feather boards on material up to 1.5 thick (the height of the rip fence). They hold the stock guides tight when placed where desired, and I have had great success ripping materials that had significant warping and would’ve been much more difficult without the setup.

As alluded to above— a downside to the Jessem guides, which holds true on any saw, is the height of the fence will limit the thickness of the material which can be ripped with them installed. This is more pronounced with the CSC as the height of the fence is lower than most saws.

Sure, these can probably be replicated/made easily enough for anyone with some metal, star knobs, and bolts lying around and an hour or two to build them. For me, this is one of those times where my time is better invested elsewhere, and throwing money at the problem has been rewarded.

Based on the price, ease of installation, additional safety, and accuracy afforded by the Jessem brackets, I am confident in recommending these to anyone looking for a solution solved by the addition of stock guides, using these brackets, to your saw fence.

Of course it’s the right thing to say in this day and age; this is not a sponsored add. I paid for the CSC SYS 50 Rip Fence Bracket and Clear Cut FLEX Stock Guides myself.
