I have the parts to build a Kreg Klamp table but see the MFT table and think that both do have advantages.  Has anyone thought about combining them into one table at all?

Thanks,
Don

I noticed the same thing some time ago.  The MFT is basically the Kreg table.  All I kept was the rails and clamps.

The factory Kreg clamp table top is 2 layers of 3/4" material so the Festool clamps won't work if you were to bore holes in it. I have both the MFT/3 and the Kreg tables. Would be nice to combine them. Not sure how you could do that as the Kreg rails are designed to be flush with the top surface and the MFT top is 3/4" so I letting the rails would leave very little if any material to mount to.

The grid of holes in the MFT's are lined up in a perfectly square pattern. Using dogs, you can place fences, whether Festool or home made using straight lumber cut to any appropriate sizes/lengths, you can clamp so to have 1 sq corner to 4 or more sq corners.  I clamp the pieces down using the Festoy clamps and use the "frame" to do my project corners.  Sometimes, I use the set up to drill my pocket holes as well as clamp the project corners for assembly.

Agree on the grid for the MFT. What I like for fences, since straight lumber is easier said than found is some 1515 series aluminum extrusion from 8020inc. They always have some overstock/cutoff sale running on ebay and typically have reasonable shipping once you get more than one piece. You can basically build a great 1.5" high, ~40" long fence, which accommodates Festool clamps, for about $30.
