KS120 - Modify to shadow light?

There seem to be a very widespread interest in this.

I really like the idea of the Makita module and a 3D printed adapter for it..

If a second version of the REB hits the market, I’ll bet it will be with a shadow light, and Festool knows that only a fraction of the KS 120 customers that are happy with their saw wouldn’t exchange just for a different light. Sooo why not make an well made “afterthought” LED shadow light module; as they did with the OF 1010 LED module

I see two paths forward if there is sufficient interest...

1) We can create a custom PCB which includes the voltage regulator etc. This would be the best option to insure that the LED placement is optimal and insure consistent performance and ease of installation. We could also accommodate current limiting to prevent an overload to the existing circuit which was designed to handle the current draw of the laser. A bracket would also be created to insure ideal placement and drop in installation.
2) A bracket could be designed which holds off the shelf components such as the Makita LED module listed above along with any accompanying regulators or additional components. This may be the lower cost option, but may result in compromises for performance or fragility of the supply chain.

Installation would still require disassembly of the saw which may be off-putting to many.
