Laguna sliding table attachment for unisaw

Hi fog! I bought the Laguna sliding table attachment for my delta x5 unisaw over a year ago. I was under the impression it was universal but after getting home it wasn't just a bolt on application . The directions are a joke & after researching I discovered you have to cut the beismeyer fence rail so slider doesn't hit it. I knew you had to remove the lefthand table extension & it appears factory bolt patterns line up for slider attachment to mount to table. So anyway it has been sitting in original box collecting dust. I'm not sure what to do with it , since I have mft now for crosscuts. Does anybody have experience with Laguna  slider attachment? Is it worth cutting 12" of fence rail? I paid $700 for it & it hurts every time I look at it.
