Does anyone know where I might still purchase the large Centrotec drill and driver set? (Festool number unknown.) A dealer at the recent Baltimore woodworking show had one for sale but I didn't move quickly enough. I'm aware of the 7 drill+countersink set (#496942) but I'd rather have the more comprehensive collection.

Thanks for any leads or information.  Joel

Hopefully someone will know of a dealer with one sitting on the shelf, but you might also want to check the classifieds.  They is a 2007 set there now I believe.

If you willing to pay additional shipment (and maybe duty), I could send you one from Germany.

Good luck. I've emailed and PM'd Brice a dozen times with no response. You can order the set from eBay in Germany but shipping offsets the savings in VAT so it's still about $450.

This is Centrotec set is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.  I'm still trying to figure out if I need it or not.

Has anyone from the US ordered one from Germany or any other place?  If so, could you share about how much you paid in shipping and such.

I'm still trying to come too terms with over $400 for drill bits.

Thanks Makkus for your kind offer. I may take you up on it if I can't locate a new set in the US. I'm still tracking a few leads.

Erock, they are available if you ask around in the right places, but they are pricey. Seems when I was looking a month or two ago, prices can vary from $450-$500 depending on where they come from, Canada, or VAT etc.. I made the decision to build it on my own and change it a little as well, slowly over time. I got the inserts from Festool US and a Sys-1 and I am well on my way. Might cost a little more if you were to do it this way verbatim to the original set, but I plan on omitting some of the pieces I have or know I won't use.

What I know I want in there is the Imperial set, the Screwdriver and some of the other pieces. It's a neat set, I would imagine with the stuff I have seen you make you would make good use of it. But yes, very pricey. If you haven't seen them already, those Imperial bits are worth every penny, they're beautifully made.

Lee Valley in Canada have some left last time I checked. If anyone in the US wants one, they can pay and have it shipped to my address in Canada. I will be in New York at the beginning of May and can forward it to you then (or from Canada when it arrives if you prefer).

It is $410 plus tax for the set.

If you're interested send me a PM and I'll give you my work address. There's nothing in it for me but I'm happy to help out. The cost of me shipping it to you will perhaps be another $20 I have no idea but I can take my set to the post office and check how much it is.
