LAST CALL for First Aid Systainer Orders and Payment

Speaking of attention to detail, I thought I'd share a couple of pictures. Here's how the latches were packaged for me, even though I only live about 5 miles from the printer:

[attachthumb=#]

In case you can't see it, each latch is in it's own plastic bag to prevent any scuffing. Thease guys are GOOD!

I spent most of the day yesterday and today picking up and reassembling the Systainers. If you liked the last post of all of the systainers, you're gonna LOVE this one:

And a bit of a close-up:

I'll stop teasing you now.

very cool can not wait to get them in hand. this project is amazing  [scared] Thanks again

I thought I'd post a few pictures to help you get a sense of the magnitude of what I need to accomplish in the next few days. I had the deliveries managed so I didn't have to stubble around boxes until the last minute. Today UPS delivered 19 boxes of First Aid supplies. Yes, I said NINETEEN boxes.

I unpacked some of them and stacked stuff in flats so I can see it, and opened the rest for inspection. I had already put some of the medication items into the plastic 'Med Box' and recycled another dozen or more small boxes. Anyway, here's what the contents for this many kits look like and I have to deal with next:

I think I'll set up an 'assembly line' in my living room to finish this...

OK, here's the good news for all of you who were 'late to the party' but want a kit.

I ordered and paid for a few extra's because I didn't know if any would get damaged in shipping or printing. So far - fingers crossed - everything has gone great. That means I have 2 or 3 extras that I can ship. The reason that the number isn't exact is because I intend to hold one back in case one gets damaged or lost in shipping so I can replace it to the unlucky recipient.

The cost on these last few is going to be a little higher. For instance, I spent a few dollars more on getting them printed than I counted on, and there was a bit of 'feature creep'. If you're not familiar with that term, it means that I added or upgraded a few items so the cost went up. Again, I didn't plan on making any money on this - but I can't afford to LOSE any either. So the cost of these last few kits will be $300 for shipping to the US, and $325 for shipping to Canada.

If you want one of the last kits, I NEED YOUR HELP!

I want to be fair in how these are offered, so I see three options:

1. Offer them to the FOGgers who have PM'd me or posted in this thread that they want one. If this option is chosen, all kits are spoken for.

Edit - #1 was the unanimous choice, and has already been chosen.

2. Offer them on a first-come, first-served basis at a specific time.
3. Collect names and do a 'lottery' drawing.

So - ONLY to those people who want one of the last kits - please post your preference and any comments. Majority will rule. Comments must be received by NOON CDT on Monday to be considered. Those selected by whichever process will have 24 hours to arrange payment, or the next person in line will be chosen. The kit that I hold back will go to the next person in line - as long as all kits are delivered without incident, which I expect will be the case.

Please post your choice here if you want one of the last few kits.

I didn't buy one…..but for what it's worth….I think you should sell them to the guys who have PM you or posted interest.  They were the first to make it known they wanted them.
First come first served…..the first guy who PM you may miss out…...
Doing a lotto would open the door for guys who haven't followed this thread…..plus cause more work for you.

Just my two cents…

Eric

I second what Eric said.

AND THOSE PHOTOS ARE AMAZING!!!!

Brilliant project - start to finish.

I see some non-first aid items in the UPS stack of boxes Senco and and 18volt box.  Its always good to buy tools [big grin]

Good eye! Yes, this *WAS* the spare bedroom and I had some tools and supplies stored in there while I finish my bedroom addition. It has become 'Med Central' for a bit until I ship the Systainers.

The Senco drywall driver and the nails came from the final days of the 7 corners sale. Couldn't pass 'em up at 70% off!

I didn't notice the pics at first…..

I see you got yourself the Senco battery screw gun.   I have the corded version.    I installed a bunch of drywall with the corded version with out a single issue.    It's been the best tool I've bought…and the last tool I bought from the big box stores.    You're gonna enjoy how quickly it makes installing drywall, if that's what you're using it for.

BTW……you've done a freakin' great job with this project!   Above and beyond what I've expected when you started it!

Eric:

Thank you very much for the compliment. As I said at the outset, Peter set a very high bar with the FOGtainer project, so I had a lot to live up to. But I'm really just making the product *I* would want - First Class, with apologies to no one. I want everyone who trusted me with their money to be glad that they did, and be proud of what they get. So, far...so good!

[big grin]

I agree, those that already asked about the kits should be allowed to purchase them first.

I hope you've got some help to fill all those systainers, that's a pretty large project in itself!

I printed out your list of contents, if you don't mind I'll use it as a guideline make a kit. I've got a few extra
T-locs, I don't mind dedicating one to a first aid kit.

Thanks for the time you spent and for providing the inspiration.

I see the "First Aid" printed on the sides, too.  That's obviously why the sustainers went to the printers.  Nice touch.

My wife has been helping me where she can. The issue I am wrestling with right now is what goes where. I have filled and 'dumped' my prototype systainer I don't know how many times?!

Once I figure it out, I should be able to 'build' them pretty fast - like maybe 30-45 minutes per kit. Since everything is counted and filled by hand, it takes a little longer. Plus, I am not always the fastest in the world at this kind of stuff. I get bored and distracted pretty easy when it becomes routine\\\

No problem, glad to have been an inspiration. Imitation being flattery, and all that...

[big grin]

The final list will have changed somewhat, so check back next week to see the changes and decide if you want to incorporate them in your kit...

Not sure where my request ends up, but it would be great to have one. Thanks BTW they look fantastic.

first if there is a cost increase let me know i will send it .you are doing a great thing for us ,so it should not lose money ,thanks again it looks great.oh it should go to those was on the first list and who didn't get on .but i would take a second one if no one needs it  ;D

Wow, nice job!
I almost joined the the initial list when you offered the kits, but decided not to purchase one. I think the right thing to do is what Eric said, those who asked first should be able to purchase one. Or you could follow the teaching of Jesus: "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." (Mat. 19:30 KJV)  [laughing]
