Lazy Susan for bench tools?

Just before Xmas I added a bench grinder w/ 2 by 36 belt to my collection, it was the proverbial straw/camel's back situation. I ran out of bench space. This got me thinking about making a lazy Susan-type turntable, and after mocking it up I think I can fit 3 tools (grinder/disk sander/PortaBand) on a ~30" turntable.

I am considering using (2) 30" plywood disks with a common axle/dowel pin and just separating them with some thin UHMW in place of bearings/rollers. Drill a circular series of holes in the top and embed a threaded insert in the bottom so I can rotate it and then use a threaded knob to lock it in place.

Anyone have any suggestions or have a similar setup?

I have seen the exact lazy susan that I think you want.  See ShopNotes magazine #35, page 16.  They used several 1" roller bearings between the bottom and the round "table" that the tools are on.  Then they used a barrel bolt to "lock" the turntable in place.  There is a hole drilled in the round table base and the barrel lock can be inserted into the hole so that the table doesn't move when you're using the selected tool.

The version shown has a bottom level for routers and other hand tools (it's more like a kitchen lazy susan) and the top is an open round top with the larger tools mounted to the top.
