I'm curled up in a small closet storage space sanding away and realize that my parents house is really old and that the paint is probably lead based. Luckily I had the CT22 hooked up but not wearing a respirator... smart huh? I was using the DS400 and RO150 to sand away some nasty toxic black mold residue and puckered blistered paint and most of it went into the hose. BUT is there something else I should be doing aside from tearing the house down and building new?? The hidden treasures of renovation

The more I sand the dumber I get, the dumber I git, duh more me sands, dee more me sands dah dimmer I gots... repeat.

Lead poisoning... explains a lot of things now.

I can't argue with Rick's logic on lead based paint, but might add that chemical strippers can be nasty in their own right...  there are now strippers that are E friendly that are soy based or citrus based that work very effectively.
