Lead, Wet Sanding and Rotex

Would Festool's airpowered sanders work in the wet?  Are they NAINA.  I looked at them at Axminster in the UK recently and was sorely tempted.

I am now trying to find out how to get rid of the asbestos.  I am not concerned about removing it, but when I have, I am unclear as how to dispose of it.  The lead paint I will probably remove, again not quite sure how.  If I wear a suitable mask I can't imagine that it can be that much more noxious than all the water that passes through lead pipes in a large number of buildings in Paris  - which nobody seems to want to do anything about - I guess that's why we all drink wine here!

Maybe I misunderstood the comment, but... if you dry sand lead paint without collecting all the dust, wouldn't the air remain contaminated for some time? And then all the surfaces become contaminated over time as the particulates settle out of the air? In which case, even if the right mask could protect you DURING the abatement process, wouldn't you also want to keep wearing it (and possibly also a hazmat suit) for a very long time after you're done?

Just asking.... ;-)

There is a lot of confusing if not contradictory information out there about lead.
I remember reading something about the size of lead molecules being to big to
be absorbed but also reading something about lead being soluble making it readily absorbed.

On the subject of lead pipes for potable water supply I've read that old pipes
has a coating of gunk on the inside (which you'd normally want to remove)
that keep the water from actually coming in contact with the lead. Further,
it's the lead content in brass fixtures that supply most of the lead we actually
drink, therefore you only need to run the water briefly in the morning to flush
out the lead that leached out overnight.

The above is posted only to draw out comment from those who know,

I'm confused about this stuff.

City Lead water Mains can leach into the water but  If the water is kept to the Alkali isde of the scale it can be controled.  Hot acidic water that sits in a pipe is the worst case.  Brass and bronze fixtures also will leach.....

the big issue with windows is not peeling paint rather the lead dust that comes from operating them.  air conditioning  has done a great job in mitigating this passivly as windows get opened much less often now.
