Lee Valley and 8mm router bits

Ron... I don't think that will be a problem, although I'm sure you'll find out for sure shortly!   [big grin]

I think it is mostly for handling English/French combo that they deal with in Canada, as well as certain items that may be available in Canada but not the US.  I'm pretty sure Rob Lee said he can't sell Festool in the US per his agreement with Festool, so that's why that tab only shows up on the Canadian version.

To clarify, for those just tuning in, we're not talking about Festool 8mm shank router bits, but Lee Valley's "house brand" that are now available for sale.  (No restriction on country).

OK, I missed your original point of NOT being able to order Festools from Lee Valley.  I haven't tried that & probably won't since I have my favorite U.S. Retailers.  As far as 8mm shank router bits they are no problem.

Hi -

There is no problem with shipping the router bits anywhere. I would also note that the green color of the bits has been our standard color for more than 20 years, and it is not a Festool green. We added the selection of bits to cater to those with metric collets, though they are certainly a much better choice than 1/4" shanks anyway...

When the selection was made - we focused on basic utility and joinery bits - not all profiles are available with the 8mm shanks. Please feel free to shoot me an email if there's something you feel we've overlooked...

Cheers -

Rob
