LEX air sanders not getting air?

Good morning FOGgers,

I have the Festool air sander setup with the ct, regulator, ias air hose, etc. My lex2 150 3&7 sanders don't want to spin. I'm running plenty of air and I know it's getting to the sander because I can press the valve in on the end of the hose when its not hooked up to a sander and get air to flow out. Also, when I hook up a sander I can hear the faint sound of the of the mechanism wanting to spin and as I change the speed setting the sound changes. It seems like the brass tube in the sander that is supposed to open the air valve when connected to the hose isn't working, but after playing with it for a few hours I didn't make any progress.

I hope this is clear enough to make sense. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I appreciate any help and have a happy 4th of July to the Americans!

I suspect that the LEX system is the amongst the most likely Festool product(s) to be discussed here.  For instance I certainly don't know if the LAX has a brake on it and only when you apply to the tool to the work does it then spin.  I suspect that you might get the best answer directly from Festool via phone at 888-337-8600 if you are in the US.

Thanks Peter. I will try calling them tomorrow.

It feels like an eternity between the time a Festool goes down and the time it gets fixed. Damned Monday holidays!

I know.  By the way, is this new to you or have you been using it for awhile and now it isn't working like it did before?

Peter

This problem is new although I've only had these sanders for about a month and in that time I haven't used them heavily.

I am sure that Festool will take care of you just fine!  Obviously under warranty if you purchased new.

Enjoy the holiday in the meantime!

All the best,

Peter
