Lid won’t shut tight on CSC SYS 50

On the little Festool CSC SYS 50 cordless table saw, the lid would not close seamlessly tight.

No amount of persuasion would close the gap.

A buddy said he has the same problem and it’s the Dust Bag of all things in that puzzle-piece contraption!

These are the fixes he suggested:
  • Rotate the cap & strap out of the way (my fix)
  • Align and flatten the inner frame
  • Ensure cap is screwed on completely

Are you leaving the fence attached or storing it in the lid?

Also, have you aligned the marks on the fence and mitre saw so they store properly?

If you leave the bag and fences out does it then close, if so as grmaxx suggests it might be damage/bent out of shape somewhere.

Thanks for the ideas.

The lid is fine. It’s not damaged nor bent. The rim is all clean with no burrs.

The problem was the dust bag. The strap needed to be rotated out of the way.

Crazy the tolerance is so tight in such an innocent area.
