Limbert style coffee table

We recently moved to a new house and needed a coffee table. After unpacking and setting up my workshop in the garage it was time to get to work. We chose a Limbert style coffee table from Wood Magazine as it matched our cherry dinning room set.
I altered the dimensions of the table to be larger and used dominos instead of mortise and tennon joinery. I also tried my hand at using more hand tools for the joinery and flattening the table top. The finish is water soluble wood dye with several coats of water based polyurethane on top.
Some little mistakes were made but overall I'm pleased with the results. My wife is happy as well, she's place an order for matching end tables for either side of the couch.

We are very happy with our new house and feel fortunate. We bought it without having seen it in person. So the first time we got to actually see it was the day after we drove from Seattle to Ottawa! I spent the fall getting my shop set up to a certain degree and thought I'd work on a few projects before building anything permanent like cabinets. I am planning on creating a thread on my shop soon. Yes the Track Racks are definitely a favorite item I had to bring with me! I love how accessible my rails are now.

I sprayed the table tops and then hand applied on the legs and sides where the sprayer did not apply enough.

Yes, I decided to go all in with french cleats in my garage. My last garage was a patchwork of pegboards and I got tired of the hooks falling off all the time. So far I'm really liking the flexibility of the cleats and am glad I did them first.

Very nice job on the coffee table... [big grin]  [thumbs up]...the bottom of the legs are very interesting, a combination of Arts & Crafts & maybe some modern?

Nice job also on the garage and all of those French cleats.  [smile]

Even the air cleaner is cleated to the wall, never would have thought of that but I like it a lot.  [jawdrop]

Are all of the French cleat items plywood?

I don't want to derail the thread, but what spacing did you use for your french cleats?
