Limited edition Systainer

Has anyone pre-ordered the Limited Edition Fall Systainer?

I'm a sucker for branded hats and it looks cool but it also costs more than just a regular one.
Any thoughts?
Hat looks cool no doubt. I’d probably get one if I thought the travel mugs would be decent but I’m confident they’ll be unusable junk.

Yes. It's a regular 60-buck M137 Tanos Systainer made in one of their 10 different standard colour shades, which contains a 3-buck Chinese hat and a pair of 5-buck Chinese mugs which have the Festool logo on them.

Yours for just $73 $100.

Without wishing to fan the flames of the Sys³ debate, is it an amazing coincidence that the M137 is 137 cubic inches as well as being 137mm tall or has someone got the wrong end of the stick?

Maybe it depends whether the stick they've got hold of is metric or not.

And for the Australian market probably around $250!

And in EU it will cost 100 Euros, although wait, it is made in EU, but it is not sold in EU. [crying]

Don’t get me wrong and please don’t think I’m being cynical. Limited Editions are often absolutely excellent - the recent offering done in collaboration with Spax and Fischer would have had me reaching for the ‘order now’ button were it not for the fact that I already have a van full of Fischer plugs and Spax/Reisser screws. There was real value in that. But not this IMO. It’s actually quite disappointing to see a company with Festool’s pedigree producing what I perceive as a novelty item. I’m quite sure they’ll sell some to a certain demographic, though. But a hard pass from me.

Edited to add - ‘Novelty item’. Yep. I bought the TS60 pizza cutter [big grin]

The bigger irony (and agony, really) is seeing a company taking the time to produce holiday kitsch specifically for the North American market and spend the money to ship it over to the US instead of filling a container with, say, drill bits or other useful accessories and consumables that are blacklisted from sale in the North American market...

As the beneficiary of such...... I'm saying nothing...... [big grin]

I have been tempted myself, but just can't reasonably justify it. I don't wear hats, in the first place, even though I do have a few that were given as swag. Cup Koozies?...no. So it's just an off colored Systainer....I'd rather have another organizer, if I was buying.

Well, the imperial measurements where of course of no value whatsoever when designing the Systainer, but the Sys3 M137 is definitely a lot bigger than 137 cubic inches. Perhaps you miscalculated... it happens all the time when using units that should have died in the 19th century.  [tongue]

For that matter, the inner dimensions are bigger than 137 SQUARE inches at the base.  Closer to 167, depending on how you measure it.

I didn't miscalculate.  I was reading from the advert that the OP's link sent me to.  My point being that they have misunderstood what the 137 stood for.  Never mind.

Also not wanting to fan the flames, but I'd order this if it was a Sys 2. The hat and cups could be gifted away.

If you find the cubic" stick they happened to be holding I'd love to buy one...

thank some clever engeneer/designer who did a bit of algebra.

my Festool dealer gave me one for Christmas. Which was nice after spending 15k on tools this year [eek]
Just curious...is there really a town named Rifle Colorado? I have nothing against that as I rather like firearms, but the name is strange.  [smile]

On a similar note, it rather reminds me of Embarrass Minnesota. Its annual average temperature is 36º which is how the town got its name. The summer growing season is only 72 days long so even growing tomatoes in the summer is problematic.  Nice place to visit...wouldn't want to live there.  [smile]

Yes, there is a Rifle, Colorado in the mountains.  I wanted to go have lunch there at a special restaurant that has been on the news, but too far to drive from Ohio.  I think it is now closed.  I like those odd names.  In my Southern Ohio county we have a "town" called Knockemstiff.  We  also have a town called Kinnikinnick which I know means Indian tobacco.  I thought Knockemstiff might also be native american, but instead it was named after a bar fight and the name describes what happened at the fight.

I was driving through western Kentucky this summer and had to take a double-take.  There was a town called Monkey's eyebrow.  I do not know what the story is behind that name.

I’ve been to Pie Town, New Mexico and Two Egg, Florida.
Pie Town got it’s name exactly how you imagine it but I don’t know the origin of Two Egg.
