Can you use the Lithium Batteries with older festools such as power drills and Jig saws.

Lithium Ion batteries will only work in tools designed for Lithium Ion.

I'm not sure which drills you're referring to, but we never had cordless jigsaws that worked with anything other than Lithium Ion batteries.

If you have specific tool(s) you are questioning, let me know.

Technically aftermarket lithium batteries can work if somebody wants to manufacture them.  Aftermarket lithium batteries are available for obsolete Bosch formats originally designed for Ni-cad batteries (such as the 3610 format) for example. They generally come with a charger with a plug coming out of it which inserts into a port in the battery rather than a charger you put the battery on.

Probably due to smaller market share and demand they don't appear to be available for Festool.

For what it's worth, since these (to my knowledge as well) don't exist...

From our warranty:

Festool does not condone nor support the use of any non- Festool engineered, designed, and manufactured accessories or consumables with Festool products. Use of any non-Festool products may affect performance or void the warranty. Festool is not responsible for any damages or losses incurred and user assumes all risk and responsibility with non-Festool derived products.

I have seen various replacement batteries ( non festool) for Festool products on ebay during searches. However the companies only offer like for like cell types. So drills that use Ni MH batteries only get Ni MH replacement batteries. What they do more often though is to up the amperage, so if the original was 1.5/2.0 amp the copies are 3.0 amp or more.

Batteries are one area i don't skimp on. I buy originals only for all of my cordless tools. Plus to me when a seller only offers a 30 day warranty on a new product, it says they don't have confidence in their products.  [scared]
