Just thought I'd share this job I did earlier this year. Customer wanted wardrobe in a difficult spot.

Yes over stairs, going up into a loft room .
This is what i designed and built for them. The total height of door and frame 1600mm and 1400mm width.

The wood is from unsorted redwood pine 9"x3". Stained with Period pine NGR and finished with supreme wax. The doors where done stick and cope with spindle moulder. Reinforced with dominoes. The panels are quarter sawn 10mm x 75mm strips, edge joined to make panels.
Each pair of doors has 4 sprung euro cup hinge and 4 butt hinges for bi fold. Running mechanism is just something i knocked up.
The doors work surprisingly very well. I did find 4 x sprung hinges pulled the doors closed with a bang so had to configure in soft closers which work fantastic.

Nice use of some otherwise wasted space. I'll bet it was quite a challenge working in such a tight spot.

Alex;
Nicely done.
Well balanced design (door panels) and it looks like it fits with the finishes in the house.
