I have seen Glass/aluminum doors use all 3 types of hinges. Continous (Roton, piano), pivot blocks, and plain old door hinges (both drop style and woven).
I am curious as to why the glass is spec'd to be 3/8 of an inch thick though. It usually not that thick in a storefront door and those take crazy amounts of abuse.
