Wow, loving the opening ceremony!  Have a great Olympics in London 2012 everyone.  Here comes the torch up the Thames...

Yeah the part about the industrial revolution, and the raising of the Olympic rings was very good for me.

Amazing ceremony I spotted my dads old address in the countdown at the beginning 15 Albion square, Hackney and he lived at 23  [big grin]

I think its one of the best I've seen, lucky having it on our doorstep almost , I'm going to watch the cycling tomorrow its comes right near us.

Beautiful ceremony.    [thumbs up]  Here is wishing all our friends on that side of the pond a fantastic Olympics, and a safe Olympics.  May the competitions between individuals and nations take place within the athletic venues in the purist forms.

Brilliant opening ceremony. Lots of history, but also young and vibrant, just like Britain really. Loved the Queen's role too!

I am heading to London on Tuesday and can't wait to join the party.

joiner, thats cool that you can see the road race on Saturday !

The whole 007 thing was cool....  I am right in the middle of watching through all the films in order, fun coincidental timing.

Over all I think it was one of the best and most interesting openings in a while.

We stayed up and watched the whole of the BBC TV broadcast and, even though I say so so myself, it was absolutely fantastic. There were messages about our cultural heritage, the industrial revolution, multiculturalism, the importance of children and one or two achievements en-route. Above all it was about the Olympic spirit bringing nations together for a common purpose.

Danny Boyle managed to encapsulate all of that within a most amazing spectacle.

I felt proud to be British, proud of our lovely Queen and honoured to belong to the host nation.

Just got back from watching the cycling. Amazing atmosphere thousands of people here's a couple of pics taken at the Walton on Thames stretch my eldest son James is in the second photo. I didn't get any pictures of the riders only videos and I don't know how to post them  [laughing]

Looks like a great atmosphere. I just hope when we arrive they'll have sorted out the border chaos!

Just above your son's head is a sign for a bike lane. Would have been classic if they'd made the riders use that!

Being in California I may have been one of the last to see the opening. But it was certainly worth waiting for, one of the best I've seen in a while. I love the English sense of humor (humour).

I agree about bringing nations together, that's what I enjoy most about the Olympics.

Well done, Brits!

Yeah it was great this morning everyone in good spirits, even the police were fun  [eek] I saw a motorcycle cop high five loads of people as he rode past  [laughing].

Shame about the result but congratulations to Kazakhstan.
