Long life bag

Current thoughts on the long-life bag, for a CT26? I'm sick of buying bags, as they're very expensive down here and I don't really want to mount the separator to my vac - I have the Mafell/Ruwi systainer bench already mounted.
Is there any performance drop with this bag? I do a fair bit of sanding, as well as planing, domino'ing, cutting etc, etc, and I know it's not recommended for sanding dust, but that's only because of the potential mess/hazard when emptying it, right??

Hi, i have a 36ac we switch from dywall to wood made no sense to buy cloth bags ,we found this and is working good.sanding planer saw etc. I think they are uk based. they make all sizes from mini to 36

Disgusting to empty a bag.  [poke]

Sanding things like drywall will clog the bag before it's full, reducing air volume.

I just make sure I have stock of bags that I bought in bulk for a good price.

I used to have a long life bag in the past, never again. Emptying it is indeed disgusting. I will stick with bags I can throw away.

It is really only usefull with big chips, not with dust.

You did not place a location/country, so hard to guess.

But did you consider upgrading to a CT36 or even a CT48 bin ? Their bag prices seem only tiny bit higher to the CT26 ones and a CT48 bag is 2x the capacity.

E.g. I am now looking for a CT26 bin to swap in on my CT36 one as I use the CTM36 almost exclusively with a separator where the added bulk brings no real value ..

I have and use the long life backs in my two vacuums. They work perfectly and while there is some dust it is not a big deal. To empty mine I take the top off and stick it in a trash bag with my hand holding the the closed end of the vacuum bag from the outside of the bag. Then I shake both my arm and the bag is empty with all of the dust contained. Occasionally I will give it a few passes with the blower tip of my air compressor to clean it up. I saved the equivalent cost in bags in a very short time period and I never run out of bags.

I second this; I have one in my sys vac; i clean it by using my big dust collector in the shop, cuz otherwise its a damn giant mess. I feel silly while i'm doing it, double vacuuming.

I have Dust Deputy connected to my MiDI with long life bag.  I check occasionally when my bag will fill up to throw out...so far in about a year, none.  I'm thinking why did I get this long life bag when DD takes care of everything lol  [laughing]

I’m a Hobbyist - Working in my garage shop -
So I’m not dragging my Festool CT33 and CT26 around to job sites like you tradesmen.

Once I hooked my CT Dust Extactors to my two Dust Deputies -
That was the end to changing CT bags of any kind.
They never fill up; not even close.
I just empty out the Dust Deputies.

Not in Germany, so doesn't really apply. Filter bags are $23 each, long life bag is $341. I was planning on just sucking out the contents with my static dust extractor.

I got one for my CT26 and CT 22 , yea theres a bit of a performance drop but still works fine.

I do clean them out every so often

It will have at least as good filtration as the long-life bag.

Priced at about 1/3 that of the OE bags.

At least worth a look.
