I know this has been covered in other posts but just in case…

Anyone with a Planex willing to rent for a day in Los Angeles.  Drywall’s not really my thing but I need to do a single wall.

I saw some other post from 2020 about a rental shop but they seem to have disappeared. Any tips?

Festool has that 30-day return policy. If you see what I am thinking ..... hint hint....  [eek]
Some will/may comment that I am suggesting/encouraging "return abuse syndrome".  [scared]
However, Festool seems to believe that once you have tried their tools you will want to keep them.
In any event, I have suggested to Festool (via the various surveys they send) that they figure out a rental program.
Looking forward to other ideas, etc.

Many a Planex has been sold through Festool Recon this way.

Personally, even though this is technically allowed, and the same could be done with a CT-36 AC, it doesn't sit well with my conscience.  But plenty of people have done this very thing with both tools and just floated it on a credit card, purchasing and returning within a billing cycle to keep from having to actually pay anything.

If you do this with a local B&M dealer, or even an online dealer, don't expect to get a hero's welcome on your subsequent visits, especially if you return them completely caked and disgusting as some have.

Yeah, I’m looking to rent.  To each his own but personally not comfortable with the “loophole” route - how will I ever win one of the Festool sweepstakes if I blow my karma on some drywall??

Any other sources?

Good man [member=27165]eightball[/member].

I couldn't abuse a return policy like Festool's and still sleep at night. I just took back a few panels left over from a kitchen install to my long-term supplier. When I looked at the email credit note, I saw that the girl had credited one panel twice. So I called them immediately and told them. It was only £70 - but I've always believed in doing the right thing, even if it costs you a few bucks.

Karma's a bitch. Don't mess with it.
