Longer D27 hoses than 5m? Or way to join 2 'cleanly'?

Hi all,

I have Rockler's vac hose reel in my shop; works well for my needs but do not like the hose I got with it - it's ~36mm and ribbed which is a problem.

I bought (2) Festool Suction Hose D27/32x5m thinking I could just join them together on the reel - and this kind of works.  But the joint between them (D27 - D32) is pretty large, and intermittently disconnects when I tug on the hose.

1) does Festool make a longer D27 hose, or sell it by the foot?  10m would be ideal.
2) Alternatively is there a smooth coupler instead of the bulky D27 - D32 joint?  I.e. remove both connectors and use some sort of coupler?

Thanks!

There is a thread here somewhere about buying a new vac end for a 27mm hose and replacing 5he tool end on that hose. Then you also buy Festool’s straight connector and the two hoses now go together nice and tight.

Order by the meter 452384 (D 27 MW-AS)
27mm old style ribbed hose.

There's also a 36mm variant.  BYO hose ends.

Out of curiosity, the newer hoses are tapered.  Have you taken the ends off and just shoved them together?

Easiest, cleanest transition is to use a Festool D36 hose going to the D27/32. They are now designed to fit together without any additional connectors. The D36 tool end fits into the vac end of the add on hose. This is for the new smooth hoses.

Not sure if any connection between hoses will roll up on a reel very well.

Thanks all - will try the coupler referenced.

I really like the smooth hose so don’t want to go back to the ribbed (sold by the foot).
