Anyone have an ideas about a longer Guide Rail Case. I have seen the wood ones but most of my work is inside so I just need something to protected them.  My wife who is very good with a sewing machine (made her own wedding dress) is thinking we could take three cases and make 2 longer cases.

I agree a bigger guide rail bag would be awesome.  I have tried looking for other options but I have had no luck.  It would be awesome if Festool made one for the 75in guide rail.

I ordered a Bosch one for the 1600-mm rails.
The zipper extends about 6" past the ends.
If there is a ski shop or snow board shop around that could give your Mrs ideas.
Basically it folds over with the zipper on the top. and there are some dividers to keep the rails away from each other.
There is also a pocket for clamps, and connectors.

It looks like this:

She should have no problem, but you will want her to use the heavy duty zippers and some ballistic nylon.

If I was going to protect my guide rails in a bag, I'd go to a custom surfboard bag maker ... those guys typically make bags with extra straps pockets, heavy duty inside/outside corners, HD zips, etc to protect delicate fibreglass boards, so rails would be easy.

Mine sit on their own shelves, so I haven't bothered.

The Festool rail bag is overpriced for what it is and doesn't offer much protection. I have one - not impressed!

Giving his wife right of first refusal seems a smart idea to me.

LoL .. maybe so!

My wife gave her sewing machine to our daughter ... who probably took it to cash converters! Yes, it was one of those all singing, all dancing computerised ones that she wanted and I'd got her .. and she never use!

Sometimes I pre-think in terms of my own family [embarassed]

I hear you Kev - But without asking then the He is damed if he doesn't...
(But I could be doing a Kev... "maybe I am pre-think in terms of my own family")

A surfboard bag maker is a great backup plan unless the fellow is inland.
