Look what I got this morning.

The grandfather of a friend of mine passed away recently and they were cleaning out the attic a few days ago and they found this beauty. A Stanley 18¼ block plane and it's in very good shape. No rust and the knuckle cap functions perfectly as well as the adjuster. The only thing missing is some of the paint but I'm not going to re-do it. I like how it looks.

Perfect plane for cleaning up joints and fitting. Awesome find. I hope it gets some good use.

Wow. That's a proper # 18 1/4 with the stamp on the left side.  The # 9 1/4 blades should fit if you decide to update it a bit.
