Got this thru tonight take a look at the new rail bags and the LR 32 rails are getting longer I now know why the 1080's are on special in a few places they are being phased out from what I can tell and being replaced with 1400's.

I'm pretty excited about the longer LR32 rails and stops but I've got to have one of the new rail bags! I can see keeping clamps, parallel guides, the LR32 system, maybe other router and saw accessories in there.

Any info on what the difference is with the new Kapex, besides the blade size ?

Will we see this one  in the US ?

No angle guide, no laser, no safety brake are a few differences. Check out this brochure for more details, Kapex Brochure

We discussed the new version of the Kapex at the training class.  Based on the conversations - as I remember them - and please remember that I am not associated with Festool in any way - if I were wanting a Kapex I would be looking at the full size model and not waiting for the newer stripped down version.

Thanks for the pointer to the brochure.

Hmm, interesting differences. I bet the 88 model will not be significantly cheaper. Leaving out the safety brake was, after my opinion, a bad idea. Even cheap saws tend to have that. If you're up in cost might as well go for the full version.

In the UK it's 23% cheaper, if it's the same in the US that would be about $300 cheaper.  As you said, for a few hundred bucks more might as well get all the bells and whistles.  Kind of like the two new drills, for $50 more might as well get the best you can.
