Hey, I normally build scenery and am used to materials magically appearing before me without thought of cost. Helping a friend with some built ins and he's adamant he wants exotic wood for both doors and case. I've convinced him he wants veneered ply but i'm having trouble finding any.
I've wasted a week trying to deal with Atlantic Ply and am now at the point where I think I have to find a shop that can veneer cut and edge the panels for me. Ultimately I need to price this and I'm just standing still.
Very appreciative of any recommendations for a company that can do this or that sell exotic oky and edgebanding. I'm in NJ, but right by nyc. Job is near Woodstock NY. Willing to drive.
Thank you.

Industrial Plywood in Reading PA has a good selection of veneered cabinet ply & edge banding at reasonable prices but may be the wrong direction for you. Around Philly you have Fessenden Hall in south Jersey.

You might want to contact Certainlywood.com (a large veneer supplier in NY state) and see if they can give you some names of companies they supply in your area that can veneer for you.  They might have a no-reference policy, but it can't hurt to call them.

Just a thought.

ML Condon in White Plains, NY (about 8 miles north of Manhattan) list 17 different species, three different cores and three different grades of plywood (interior) plus exterior and marine grade.

They have a good reputation, though I have used them infrequently.

If you need them to break down the sheets for easier handling, you can expect a fee (my van can take full sheets, but those fees will really add up.)

Contact IAP. There is nothing they can’t do when it comes to panels and their shipping is very reasonable. They probably have a rep assigned to your area.

My brother-in-law’s brother used to be on a crew that built scenery for Broadway shows.  His construction always looked great, but don’t lean against it.  There was almost no structure behind the pretty.

Everything he built at work was designed to be taken down after a few weeks or months.  Unfortunately he carried that mindset to his home improvement jobs.

He died about 20 years ago.  I doubt that anything he build still survives.
