Looking for suggestions for end table with plant stand

Hi, I'm designing a simple white oak support (because I have the wood already) + walnut end table with small plant shelf. Here are some pictures below but please feel free to critique, make suggestions to make it look more pleasing. I am looking for a recommendation on hinges that allow the door to open up, hiding the edges of the box.
